Regionalization in Health and Continuing Education: literature review

Abstract

This article aims to explore, in scientific production from 2019 to 2022, the articulation between the doctrinal principle of SUS - Regionalization and the theoretical/methodological assumption of Continuing Education. This is a bibliographic review in scientific databases, with a predominance of articles published in 2019 and 2021, in Brazil, in Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline) and studies with a qualitative approach. The focus of the studies is more related to Regionalization in Health and the potentials and ”provocations” for its implementation, with the approach to permanent education being incipient. The studies indicate the different potentialities and challenges, that permeate the governance and financing instances, whether federal, state and/or municipal, with emphasis on the challenge of territorial equity to be faced in order to achieve the comprehensiveness guideline in the SUS. Even though the articles do not indicate a direct relationship between the Regionalization proposal and theoretical-conceptual assumptions of Continuing Health Education, there is evidence of the importance of health workers reflecting on their work process, in addition to health care, including the dimensions of management and educational.
